We got a potty chair a few weeks ago just to have so Elyse could explore with it before we are actually ready to potty train. She has figured out exactly what it was for and used it for the first time this week. I told her it was time to take a bath and we went into the bathroom and she said "potty!" So I sat her on it and then started running her bathwater. The next thing I knew I turned back around and she was standing up looking in saying "Lysee go pee pee" and dipping her hand in it! We were so excited and so proud of our big girl! Does this mean she's ready to potty train?? I don't think she is near ready to tell us when she needs to go but it's a good start!
On a different note, I am so excited about it being spring break and spending time with my sweet girl. If only daddy shared the same break... :-(
This blog was created for all of our friends and family, and as way for us to record memories we make as a family...

Sick little Lysee
Trying to sit up and feel better
Ryan's dad, "Pop Pop" taking care of her.
Poor little girl
Elyse got strep throat for the first time last week. After a week of antibiotics, it still wouldn't go away. I'm sure that there is nothing in the world as bad as having a sick child. :-( To see her feeling so bad and having very little control over it was terrible. She ran a fever of 102.5 and was just miserable. She is now on another antibiotic and seems to be back to herself. Now the trick is keeping it away! Did you know that strep germs can live on a surface for a month??!! Yuck! We have cleaned all of her toys and all of our house in hopes that will take care of it. I think what she needs is for this warm weather to stick around!
On a brighter note, we have hit the 19 month mark and she is amazing us more and more everyday with what she is doing and what she knows. Her language has skyrocketed and she said her first 4 word sentence the other day. She is definitely a little girl and no longer a baby. Our next step is to get rid of the "bobby," which she named her pacifier. :-) Our goal is by age 2 it will be gone! Think we can do it??!!
